THE FLATS – The 7th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team is back in action at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex this weekend, hosting Oregon at noon on Sunday.
THE SCENE: Tech opened the spring slate posting a 2-0 record in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend last weekend. The Jackets look to go 3-0 on the season on Sunday, facing Oregon for the second time in program history. Last season, the Jackets headed out west to face Oregon, topping the Ducks, 6-1. Oregon brings a 3-1 record into weekend play and faces Georgia State on Saturday before meeting the Jackets on Sunday.
FAMILIAR FACES: As the Jackets welcome the Ducks to Ken Byers this weekend, they also welcome back former Georgia Tech standout Alison Silverio, head coach of Oregon. Silverio served as an assistant coach at Tech for four years after proudly wearing the Tech uniform and helping lead the Jackets to a 2007 National Championship. Silverio is in her fourth year at Oregon.
PARKING: Parking for Sunday’s match will be available in the McCamish Lot.
